The Hautes Fagnes natural park is the largest major nature reserve in Belgium, with a surface area of more than 5,000 hectares, situated to the north of the municipality of Malmedy. The Hautes Fagnes is an exceptional setting for visitors and hikers, in a preserved natural environment boasting breath-taking views.
Discover the region on foot or by bicycle
Malmedy is also the starting point for many walks through the neighbouring countryside and surrounding villages. You can also use the soft mobility Ravel trails network to discover the region ecologically, on foot or by bicycle.
Experience the folklore of Malmedy
Malmedy boasts incomparable folklore as well as a friendly and festive spirit! In the autumn, an event not to be missed is the famous Feux de la Saint-Martin fires which take place on 10th November: three neighbourhoods in Malmedy compete to see which one can light the biggest fire.
